Spring time in Salida

The pace is slowing down from Spring Break, and ski season is winding down. This weekend Monarch Mountain held the inaugural ski ballet competition on Freeway, next weekend is packed with closing weekend festivities, tailgating, soft slushy turns, and the Gun Barrel challenge.

It’s hard to believe we are approaching Spring in Salida, and it might be easy to wish away the final days of winter fun.

Room updates continue

To start this year we have been busy making the Woodland even better.  Renovations are underway in the queen sleeper rooms.  

Sustainability is on our mind

After buying a small motel in our mountain town, Salida, Colorado, we quickly realized the days would be long and the experiences interesting to say the least. I hope to share in this blog the rewards, challenges and comedy in running a small family owned and operated business.
